Yesterday as we were traveling home from Washington, D.C. we saw quite a few of young men in military uniform. I was impressed with the way they handled themselves – with dignity and confidence. Every chance that I could, I said, “Thank you for your service.”
The last one I spoke to looked like he might have been 18 years old. Maybe. Wasn’t shaving yet. Looked like he should be in an Oscar Meyer Weiner commercial instead of tottin’ combat gear. At first he looked surprised when I thanked him, and then he grinned. His face glowed as he said, “Thank you.” I don’t think he has seen any combat yet. He looked to innocent.
My sister-in-law sent me a link to this video. I thought it was well done — and worthy to display on my blog in honor of the 4th of July. I hope you enjoy it.
