I work with department chairmen (about 45 of them) to strategically manage their Independent Study portfolio -- evaluating the status of their current IS courses, which ones need to be revised (usually due to a new edition of the textbook), and which new courses the chairman would like to have developed. I am the entire consulting department. Where their used to be 4 people from my previous office who worked part-time doing the IS consulting, those responsibilities have been concentrated into one position, one person -- me! I now work for Independent Study as a consultant.
