I got this in an e-mail. I thought it was interesting — especially interesting in the fact that this wasn’t touted all over news-dom. Had it been Bush, I’m sure that a video clip like this would be splashed all over our TV screens for weeks ad nauseam.
Josh had an interesting thought about this. In addition to the fact that Obama is the U.S. President, and Russia doesn’t feel happy about the U.S., there’s also a possibility that Obama’s race was a factor. Russia isn’t exactly full of racial diversity.
This was so crazy I had to check it out…
Sadly, it is taken out of context. On one side of the room (which you don’t see) Putin introduces Obama to Russian delagates. The Russian delagates shake Obama’s hand but NOT Putin’s.
The part of the video we see is Putin shaking US delagate’s hands and Obama is using hand gestures to introduce them.
